MILFORD SHOPPING GUIDE

I’ve never seen a Hallmark Holiday movie, but I’d imagine that Milford at Christmas is what the production team must base sets on. Trees wrapped in lights, evergreen garlands with those massive red bows hung on windows up and down the street, and independent shops packed with seasonal offerings, from one of a kind antiques to high end decorations and ornaments. If only it had snowed during our visit…

Main Street in Milford boasts some of the most unique small shops in Clermont Country, nestled in next to some of our favourite restaurants (special mention: 20 Brix and the juiciest burger on the East Side), making it the perfect place to get those last minute gifts, followed by some dinner. We stopped by on a quiet Tuesday afternoon, but the best time to visit will be this Saturday as the city hosts Celebrate the Holidays shopping day from 11am to 8pm. Many of the stores we visited today will be offering specials and discounts!

Villa Sanctuary: If you’re looking for the shiniest, most sparkly shop in all of Ohio, then get your butt to Villa Sanctuary. From seasonal florals to giant neon ornaments, this store boasts a massive range of holiday themed home d├ęcor as well as a beautiful selection of accessories and jewelry. This weekend, they’ll be offering 15 – 25% holiday decorations, florals, artificial trees and women’s clothing. Oh, and they’ll be serving champagne, mimosas, cookies and treats!

Scintilla on Main: I always make a beeline to this shop as it stocks items that perfectly match my humour. Any place that sells sassy tea towels and individual leather bound beer caddies is OK with me! They also have a well stocked children’s wear section, an extensive kid’s books range (including THREE books about Santa coming to Cincinnati), and this Saturday they are doing three drawings for $25 Scintilla gift certificates.

Padrino Italian: After some much needed retail therapy today, we stopped by Padrino Italian for a late lunch. We tucked in to their Appetizer Sampler that features fried zucchini, hand-made meatballs, mozzarella sticks, and the best cheesy garlic bread we’ve ever had. We will be heading back to start trying their extensive pizza menu. Oh and you’ll get 10% off your food when you mention Second Saturday this weekend.
