Pizza will never go out of style or fail to be a family favourite. Whether you’re a fan of deep dish, thin crust or flatbread, there is a pizza out there for everyone! As the debate on whether pineapple belongs on a pizza rages on, it is the simple and classic cheese pizza that continues to impress and satisfy pizza lovers across the world.

Green Bean has a wealth of additional toppings, from peppers and spinach to more exotic items such as hot sauce and artichokes, so why not treat this recipe as the best place to start. Using exceptionally hearty products from Carfagna’s (a deliciously rich sauce, not too acidic) and Lotsa Pasta (offering a choice of original and whole wheat doughs), this family friendly recipe is ready in minutes, and will be a sure fire hit. 

Yield: feeds hungry family of four

Time: 10 minutes prep, 20 minutes making


½ tsp olive oil

1 bag of Lotsa Pasta Pizza Dough

1 cup of Carfagna’s Pizza Sauce

1 ½ cups of Organic Valley Shredded Mozzarella Cheese 

A few fresh basil leaves

After defrosting your pizza dough as per the instructions, preheat the oven to 450F. Kneading with your hands and rolling with a rolling pin, get the dough down until the base is about 12-16” across. Rub the oil on to a baking tray before transferring the rolled out dough. 

Bake for 2-3 minutes until ever so slightly brown, before adding the pizza sauce and the cheese. Bake for a further 15 minutes until the cheese is bubbling and starting to crisp.

Remove from the oven, sprinkle on either whole or chopped basil leaves and serve.
